WELCOME
The purpose of this site is to act as a starting
point and base for all those wanting a Broadband Internet connection
in the Wickham Bishops district.
The Wickham Bishops Exchange boundary is in the region of a 6km
radius from the exchange building , apart from Wickham Bishops
itself it covers Great Totham, Little Totham, Great Braxted and
Little Braxted. If your phone number starts with 01621 89 then you
are on the Wickham Bishops exchange - the map below details the
actual exchange area.
The aim of the campaign is to get BT to enable the telephone
exchange for broadband by generating interest in the form of
pre-registrations. Each telephone exchange has a pre-registration
trigger level set by BT, once this level has been met BT will enable
the exchange for broadband. The "trigger level" for the Wickham
Bishops exchange is 250, you will find a link on the registration
page of this site giving you the latest number of registrations.
By registering with the link on the register page you are
not committing yourself to
Broadband or BT Openworld - all you
are doing is showing an interest.
Wickham Bishops Parish Council were approached in February
to help the campaign and
more recently BT have been contacted and
have agreed to help.
